DOSTANA is a success and John Abraham is certainly flying high. He has seen a release exactly after a year (DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL came towards the end of last year) and as things stand today, DOSTANA is all set to be his biggest grosser till date.
"The success of DOSTANA means a lot to me. A film like this had to be made and I am proud to be associated with it. I am glad that the kind of conviction that Karan (Johar) came with and the way Tarun (Mansukani) executed it, it has paid dividends", says John in a humble tone.
His physique has hogged all the limelight in the film.
"And I am happy that this has happened", smiles John, "At the end of the day, a film is a visual medium and one has to ensure that you give back to the audience something visually that they can take back home. However, let me definitely point out here that in the end it is the performance which matters. You can look great on screen with great body et al but it only gladdens you if your performance is appreciated as well."
Indeed, DOSTANA is being hailed as John's best ever performance till date.
"That's the exact point", John is quick to respond, "If one gets regular appreciation on the work film after film, it only makes you surer that you are walking up the ladder. Earlier TAXI NO. 9211 was said to be my best, then people said I delivered better in NO SMOKING while further to that my act in DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL was appreciated even more. Today when people say that DOSTANA is my best, I know that I am on the right track."
