KUNAAL ROY KAPUR

KUNAAL ROY KAPUR

Kunaal Roy Kapur may have been making headlines for his work as a debutant director on THE PRESIDENT IS COMING. However, be ready to get shocked as not many are aware that he has been a lead hero once as well. Since the project had failed badly at the box office, it didn't make much news at all but just like Abhishek Kapoor, who quit acting after UFF YEH MOHABBAT and turned director with films like ARYAN and ROCK ON, young Kunaal too has moved on to making films.

And to break the suspense, let's reveal the name of the film where he played the lead. It is called PANGA NAA LO, a small time film which released in 2007 and went completely unnoticed.

"But seriously, I am not ashamed of PANGA NAA LO", says Kunaal without even aiming to cover up his past, "I still take it as a good experience due to the people I worked with. I had superb co–actors like Om Puri and Satish Shah with me and though the film didn't work at the box office, it is a separate issue altogether." The film had featured Priyanka Yadav as his leading lady.

Revealing about his 'acting' past, Kunaal continues, "In fact I have done a lot of acting for stage as a youngster. I even played a small part in LIONS OF PUNJAB PRESENTS. I have enjoyed my journey from being an actor to a director."

Wasn't he tempted to cast himself in THE PRESIDENT IS COMING?

Laughs Kunaal, "Come on yaar, being a director itself comes with so many challenges. I had to anyways be involved in number of other activities and the last thing I had on mind was to cast myself as an actor."
