In the yet to be released film HELLO Salman Khan has once again picked up the guitar and decided to rekindle his charm as he did in PYAAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA. As a matter of fact guitar in the film music has been instrumental in creating a new image for the stars, or has been the trendsetter for the films. On the eve of HELLO being released it would be interesting to take a trip down the memory lane with the guitar songs during the last few years:
1. JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA: The song 'kabhie kabhie...'still topping the charts and is a pure magic as far as strumming the guitar is concerned. Starting with initial strumming it forms an interesting background through out the song.
2. PYAAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA: The image that Salman Khan created for himself of dropping the shirt at the drop of a hat became manifest for the first time probably in this film. It was an interesting contrast to the guitar song, ''Aate Jate from MAINE PYAAR KIYA
3. PYAAR TO HONA HI THA: The title song of the film, which was given playback by Remo, also had him strumming the Hawaiian guitar with a Goan touch. As a matter of fact it was Remo Fernandes who had given a new interpretation to playing of guitar in JALWA at a time when R.D. Burman had become synonymous with guitar in Hindi songs.
4. SAAWARIYA: Though the film did not hit bulls' eye, the title song, Saawariya still plays on various music channels, and its nodes and interludes evoke the passion of romance in a very subtle manner. As a manner of fact this guitar based song, after a long time signified return to acoustic instruments instead of synthetic sounds.
5. TAARE ZAMEEN PAR: Shankar Mahadevan's rendition in Main Kabhie Batlata Nahin... seemed as he had taken from where he had left in his solo album's song, Breathless and after a long time there was a distinct serenity in his utterance.
6. JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM: In quite contrast in this title song Shankar Mahadevan was at his savage best, so was the guitar, electronic one this time and it was reminiscent of the manner in which Big B had strummed it in YAARANA for '' Saara Zamana Haseeno ... and in quite contrast to ZAMEER's Tum Bhi Cahlo hum Bhi Chalen
7. SATTE PE SATTA: If there is one song, which captures all the forms of sound that can be brought out from guitar, it was ''Pyaar Mein Jab Kahin Aankh Kahin Lad Jaaye''
